Medium thick skin. Fruit texture is rough with fine, seed-like raised bumps. Small, pebbly fruit sometimes appears immature when actually it is ready to be harvested.

Originated in Vista, California, by E.R. Mullen. Introduced in 1932. Frost resistant. Skin russets badly in interior areas. Raised bumps on skin are a bright green. Skin is medium thin. Has excellent flavor.

Originated in Kefar Malal, Israel. Introduced there in 1947. Introduced in the U.S. in 1954. Fruit: Fuerte type. Large seed, loose in cavity, seedcoats adhere to flesh. Flesh clear light yellow, free of fiber, soft, melting, ripens uniformly.

Introduced as budwood in 1911 from Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico. A hybrid Mexican variety that is ready to pick in November and is good through March. Hangs on the tree well. A long time California commercial variety valued for its winter season and its B blossom type. Skin thickness is medium thin. Seed size is medium large. Harvested late fall through spring, the Fuerte is the original high-quality California Avocado.

Originated as seedling in 1905 in Whittier, Ca. Later owned by A.M. Ganter. Fruit season Oct. - Dec. Good quality fruit but tends to spoil at apex. Seed usually loose. Tree is small and averages no more than 44 lbs (20 kg) per year.

A thick skinned and easily peeled avocado with rich, nutty flavor and similar ripening characteristics of the popular Hass Avocado; available spring through summer. Patented under the experimental name "3-29-5" in 2003. Tree has an open and spreading growth habit and exhibits less alternate bearing than that of the "Hass" variety.
