Parentage: Hybrid

Originated at Akko Experiment Station, Western Galilee, Israel by E. Lahav, D. Zamet and S. Gazit. Seedling of Tova by unknown pollen parent. Introduced in 1995. Flesh pale yellow with green margins near the skin.

Parentage: Hybrid

Gwen is similar in appearance, taste and texture to Hass, but slightly larger. Ready to pick from April through October (at South Coast Field Station, Orange County, Ca.). Tree is small. Fruit is pear/oval with stem tending to come out on one side.

Parentage: Guatemalan

Patented under the experimental name "N4(-)5" in 2003. A "Gwen" seedling. Tree has an open and spreading growth habit and exhibits alternate bearing similar to that of the "Hass" variety. A late season variety ripening in the fall about the same time as Lamb Hass or Reed.

Parentage: Hybrid

Originated in LaHabra, Heights, California, by Rudolph Hass. Introduced in 1936. Oval/pear shaped fruit.The leading commercial variety in California. One of the longest harvest seasons usually begining in February in Orange County, Ca. Excellent flavor and shipping qualities. Hass is often used as a control in field testing of other varieties.

Parentage: Guatemalan

Originated 1928 from Lyon seed by A.G. Hazzard at Vista, California. Fruit season, April to July. Flavor, good to excellent. The tree grows slowly, reaches only 12-15 feet, begins bearing early and is a dependable producer.

Originated 1938 in Santa Monica, California. Tree is a vigorous grower with an upright and round shape. Season: June to September. Skin is tough and leathery and peals easily. Eating qualities are excellent.
