Parentage: Mexican

Medium sized spreading tree. Fruit are "Fuerte" looking. Ripens in winter. This variety sometimes is excellent, sometimes has heavy strings. Tree is spreading. Origin: Israel.

Parentage: Hybrid

Tree canopy is small to medium and slightly weeping. There is a typical small depression at the blossom-end of the fruit.

Parentage: Mexican

Originated in Carlsbad, California, by Irving Cummings. Introduced in 1939 from a chance seedling discovered in 1920. Season is Dec. to Feb.; resembles Fuerte. Compact tree, weak grower, tends to droop; bears erratically.

Parentage: Hybrid

A pretty oval/pear shaped fruit. It does not peel well, is handsome looking and has excellent flavor in April. Considered by some to be a gourmet avocado.

Was commercial at one time. Color when immature is a very light avocado green. Some fruit has a rosy blush that does not apprear to be caused by thrips.

Parentage: Hybrid

A Guatamalan x Mexican cross from Australia. Commercially grown in Hawaii. Has a well centered stem. Fruit shape is oval/pear shape. Very easy to tell when it is soft and ready to use.

P.americana cv. 'Lamb Hass'

Parentage: Hybrid

Originally named BL122. Usually is a sholdered pear shape and is normally black with green spots. It is a substantial appearing fruit. Tree grows upright. Is starting to be grown commercially in California. Matures later than Hass. This variety is similar in appearance and taste to the Hass but a large robust size – the California summer sun variety.
